Soccer: Stephen Mallon, Virginia Military Institute

Stephen Mallon played in Virginia Military Institute's 3-2 narrow loss to Campbell University on Saturday. Mallon made one shot, one on goal. Mallon graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 2009.

Mallon is a 2010 graduate of Kecoughton High School, where he was a four-year letterman on the soccer team for coach Franklin Hughes. As a senior (2009-10) Mallon was named first-team all-district and second-team all-region in addition to being selected as one of the top five players to watch in the Peninsula District. He was a member of the Top 10 Daily Press all stars and was MVP of the Kecoughton squad in addition to serving as its captain. Mallon was a member of the Virginia State Olympic Development Program team and played club soccer for Virginia Legacy. Born April 13, 1992 the son of Steve and Helen Mallon, he is majoring in international studies at VMI. Mallon is from Hampton.
