Office of Human Affairs pre-K initiative program awarded four star rating
A four star rating by the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation has been received by the pre-kindergarten program at Aberdeen Elementary School in Hampton.
The rating suggests the caliber of preschool educational services at the school. According to a press release issued by the Office of Human Affairs about the designation, "only a few programs receive the four star rating; a three star rating is indicative of a quality program."
In order to receive a four star rating, the Office of Human Affairs Four Year Old Pre-K Initiative Program had to meet or exceed several factors. These include: "a commitment to ongoing quality improvement, a desire to exceed the expectations of normal standards, the production of high quality experiences for children, a reflection of a culture of commitment to excellence among administrators, staff and families and having a distinctive vision and articulated plan for achieving quality benchmarks."
The program serves 49 Hampton area children throughout the academic year.
