City of Hampton announces Veteran's Day closings
The City of Hampton has announced which agencies will be closed and which services suspended on Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veteran's Day.
There will be no garbage collection and no recycling, refuse, bulk trash and yard waste collection. Collection will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
The landfill convenience wall will be closed but the landfill at North Park Lane and Big Bethel Road will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The yard waste site adjacent to North Park Lane will be closed. Street sweeping in all of Hampton will be suspended.
Libraries, courts, the health department and associate clinics and social services will be closed.
Golf courses, parks, the Hampton History Museum, the Buckroe Fishing Pier and the teen center will be open. Recreation and community centers will be closed, as well as the Treasurer's Office and Commissioner of Revenue's Office.
