Hampton police arrest suspect in shooting

The Hampton Police Division has arrested one of two suspects believed to be responsible for a Friday night shooting that seriously injured a man.

Arron Marques Cofield, 21, of the 5100 block of Goldsboro Drive, was charged with maiming, robbery and two counts of use of a firearm while in commission of a felony. The second suspect has not been identified.

Hampton police responded to a shooting call at 8:31 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Lasalle Avenue. On arrival, police found a 32-year-old Hampton man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
