Miss Peninsula Pageant crowns winners
Newport News resident Desiree Williams has been crowned Miss Peninsula 2012.
The graduate student at Hampton University was crowned at the pageant held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in Newport News.
The event saw other girls crowned, including Unity Bowling, who was named Miss Peninsula's Outstanding Teen; EmmaGrace Stokes, who won Miss Peninsula's Outstanding Preteen crown; and Maafoa Woodley, who was crowned Little Miss Peninsula.
The winners will compete in Roanoke this June at the Miss Virginia pageant.
