Eight new officers to graduate from Hampton Police Academy
Commencement ceremonies for graduates of the Hampton Police Academy are scheduled for this week.
Eight recruits who have completed the 24-week training program will be sworn in as police officers during the ceremony. Mayor Molly Ward and police Chief Chuck Jordan will speak at the graduation, as will the class leader. Each graduate will receive a badge, which will be pinned to the new officer's uniform by a person selected by the graduate.
The commencement ceremony is at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at at the American Theatre, 125 E. Mellen St., Hampton.
