Hampton University men's track to compete at the Father Diamond Invitational
Hampton University's men's track team will get back into action on Saturday, Jan. 7 when it competes in the Father Diamond Invitational at George Mason University in Fairfax.
The Pirates haven't had a meet since early December when they took part n the Golden Flash Gala at Kent State University on Dec. 9 and Dec. 10.
Reggie Dixon won two events at the meet, taking first in the 60-meter dash (6.67) and winning the 200 (21.23). Dixon was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for his effort at Kent State.
The Pirates are in the Father Diamond Invitational for the first time in two years. They racked up 12 top-five finishes at the meet in 2010.
The women's track team will return to the track Jan. 13 when it competes in the Gotham Cup in New York.
