Virginia School Boards Association designates the month of January as Bullying Prevention Month
The Virginia School Board Association Board of Directors has named January as Bullying Prevention Month to promote awareness of the issue.
Public schools are encouraged to provide activities for elementary, middle and high schools within individual districts.
Examples of activities for elementary schools include holding a Unity Day and talks by school counselors.
Middle school activities can include assemblies and classroom presentations on bullying.
A high school counselor can give bullying awareness presentations to all health classes.
