Pedestrian walking along North King Street is struck and killed
Hampton police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck early Sunday morning as she walked along North King Street.
Police were called at 4:41 a.m. Sunday to North King Street near Bayberry Court where an adult female was found in the intersection. The woman, whose name is not being released pending notification of her family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial investigation revealed that the woman had been struck by a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. Both the pedestrian and motorist were traveling north on North King Street.
