Thomas Nelson Community College instructor Nancy P. Hill has received the Virginia Chancellor Award for Workforce Development.
Hill received the award at the December Hire Education Conference in Hot Springs. She was one of four award-winners, including those in Community Education, Certificate Open Enrollment and Career Pathways categories.
Hill, who has taught at TNCC since 2006, works in the Public Services, Mathematics and Information Systems department.
Wayne Christian, director of contract credit and military services, nominated Hill for the award.
"I have heard nothing but accolades about Hill while conducting on-site registrations and attending Trades Leadership Development Forums at Newport News Shipbuilding. Students have given high praise for her Business Letter Writing class," Christian said in the press release. "Many of Newport News Shipbuilding employees have advanced their professional careers as a result of this TNCC partnership program, and Nancy's contributions have been a significant part of that success."
Hill has also been recognized as TNCC's Southeast regional award winner for the Peninsula Workforce Development Center.
