New report and interactive map launched to show weather disasters in Hampton Roads

Environment Virginia presented a report and an interactive online map documenting how Virginians are effected by weather-related disasters Thursday, Feb. 16 at Town Point Park.

The organization's report covered how global warming could lead to extreme weather events becoming more common and more severe in the future. Recent extreme weather events at Hampton Roads were discussed.

Laura Kate Anderson, field organizer for Environment Virginia, and Joe Cook, clean energy chair for Sierra Club Chesapeake Bay Group, made presentations at the event.

An online version of the interactive map will be online at www.environmentvirginia.org.
