Casey Wyatt finishes fifth at Whelen All-American season opener
Casey Wyatt was pleased with how his prerace practice sessions went ahead of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Stock Car season opener on Monday, April 9 at the Langley Speedway in Hampton.
Wyatt, from Newport News, couldn't complain about his finish either as he placed fifth in the 100-lap event.
Wyatt, who started the race in the eighth position, moved into third on lap 91, using a three-wide pass to close in on the top spot.
"I really don't know what I was thinking," Wyatt stated in the press release. "It was crazy out there. I saw a hole on the bottom when I came off of two and I took it. Once I was there, I thought 'What did I just do? But, 12 tires are better than four, so I held my position and hoped for the best."
Wyatt will be back in action Saturday, April 21 in Late Model Stock Car action.
