Hampton Police Division, Sheriff's Office to participate in Drug Take Back Day on April 28
The Hampton Police Division and Sheriff's Office are joining the Virginia State Police to participate in Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28.
This statewide event will give people a chance to discard unwanted and unused prescription drugs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at a collection site set up at each of its divisional headquarters in Richmond, Culpeper, Appomattox, Wythevlle, Chesapeake, Salem and Fairfax.
Drop-off points in Hampton include Langley Air Force Base, 57 Spaatz Drive, Hampton; Langley Hospital parking lot, 77 Nealy Ave., Hampton; Sentara Careplex parking lot, at 3000 Coliseum Drive; and Hampton Community Corrections, 1928 W. Pembroke Ave., Hampton.
This is the third year of the program in an effort by the Police Departments to keep trace drugs out of Virginia’s lakes and streams and to inhibit prescription drug abuse. The program is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
