Hampton Police Division seeks public's help in identifying serial robber
Police continue to investigate after an unknown suspect robbed 11 businesses at gunpoint between Dec. 26, 2011 and May 5.
Police say in all the robberies, the man enters the business, brandishes a handgun and demands cash.
The most recent incident occurred on May 5 at Auto Zone, 2221 Kecoughtan Road, Hampton.
Other crimes in Hampton linked to the suspect include the Dec. 26 robberies of the Dollar General, 1937 E. Pembroke Ave.; and the Family Dollar, 2301 Kecoughtan Road, the Dec. 31 robbery of Hardees, 8104 Newmarket Drive; the Jan. 6 robberies at Family Dollar, 2006 Nickerson Blvd.; and Hardees, 241 S. Mallory St.; the Jan. 21 robbery of Advance Auto, 2201 Andrews Blvd.; as well as the Feb. 5 and March 2 robberies of Family Dollar, 2006 Nickerson Blvd.
The man is also a suspect in the April 6 robbery of Advance Auto, 817 LaSalle Ave., Hampton; and the April 29 incident at Long John Silver's, 904 Big Bethel Road, Hampton.
The suspect is described as black male, standing 5 foot, 5 inches tall male. He's in his mid-20s to early 30s and has a dark complexion. He always wears a disguise, sometimes sunglasses and fake facial hair in others.
