Hampton native Lasia Harrison graduates basic combat training
Army Pvt. Lasia L. Harrison, of Hampton, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, in Columbia, S.C.
Over nine weeks of training, Harrison studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values. He also received instruction in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, marching, rifle marksmanship, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy and justice system and first aid, among other skills.
Harrison is a 2011 graduate of Hampton High School. He is the great-grandson of Eva Richardson, of Hampton.
